It’s May the 4th, and you know what that means? It’s Star Wars Day, a day that all Star Wars fans will look up to the stars and wish that the force is with them & their fellow star wars lovers!
We all know it’s a convenient play on words, but to the Star Wars fan it’s a day that they hold close to their heart, and without further delay, Let’s talk Star Wars!
Star Wars is a cultural phenomenon that has captured the hearts of millions of people worldwide. It all began in 1977, with the release of the original Star Wars movie, which took audiences on an epic space adventure that introduced them to a galaxy far, far away. Since then, the franchise has expanded to include nine movies, multiple TV series, books, comics, video games, and of course, a wide range of collectable toys.
The Star Wars franchise has become one of the most popular and beloved brands in the world, with a dedicated fan base that spans generations. One of the key factors that contribute to the franchise’s success is its ability to create a rich and immersive universe in which fans can get lost within. From iconic characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Darth Vader to fascinating alien races, intricate spaceships, and otherworldly planets, Star Wars offers something for everyone.

Collectable toys have been a significant part of the Star Wars franchise since the beginning. As we look to the future of the Star Wars franchise, there are many exciting developments on the horizon. The Disney+ series The Mandalorian has been a massive success, and several spin-offs, including The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka, with the latter due for release in August 2023 as confirmed at Star Wars Celebration in April 2023. With the next Star Wars movie, Rogue Squadron, set to be released later in 2023, SWC also gave us an insight into what the future of the silver screen holds for the Star Wars brand, including a film set thousands of years before the Star Wars we have all come to love & Adore, detailing the origin of the ‘Jedi’ & a film that is a continuation of the Skywalker Saga. All of which we cannot wait for.
It’s also worth mentioning that 2023 is the 40th anniversary of Episode VI – The Return of the Jedi 1983, previously titled ‘Revenge of the Jedi’. To this day, the exact reason behind George Lucas’s motivation to change the title is contested, but we mainly think that’s due to the fact that the Jedi do not go out for ‘Revenge’ & with that said, a large amount of the promotional material, merchandise & Toys were held back. Until such time that fans & collectors quickly became aware that there was another variant of Episode VI merch that they could get their hands on. Driving the value of some of these items through the roof, and if you are reading this then here’s the scoop.
